Gomoku Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-10-07
Gomoku ("the app") is a Gomoku (five in a row) game for Android, developed by Birukato. This page explains what the app does and does not do with information. Contact: birukato@gmail.com
The short version
- No accounts, no ads, and we do not sell your data.
- Your game settings and win/loss counters stay on your device.
- The app sends anonymous usage events and crash reports so we can fix bugs and improve the game.
- We do not collect your advertising ID.
Information stored on your device
The app saves your game settings (for example theme and haptics) and your win, loss and draw counters locally on your device. This data may also be included in Android's backup (for example Google's device backup) if you have backup turned on for your device. We do not receive this data.
Information collected automatically
The app uses two Google services from Firebase:
- Google Analytics for Firebase collects anonymous usage events, such as when a game is started or finished (mode, difficulty, board size, result, number of moves), and when you use undo.
- Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports: device model, Android version, app version, and the crash stack trace.
These services may also use an app instance identifier (a random ID that is not linked to your name, account or advertising ID) to count unique users and group crashes. We have turned off collection of the Android advertising ID, and the app does not request the advertising ID permission. We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts or any other personal information.
How we use it
Only to understand how the app is used, to find and fix crashes, and to keep the app working well. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell or share it with third parties, other than Google as our service provider for Firebase.
Retention
Firebase data is kept according to Google's Firebase defaults (Analytics event data is retained for a limited period set in the Firebase project, and Crashlytics data for a limited period set by Google). See Google's documentation for current details.
Children
The app has no accounts, no ads and no social features, and is not directed at collecting personal information from anyone, including children.
Google's policies
Data processed by Firebase is governed by Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy and Firebase's privacy information: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and the effective date.
